Terms and conditions

My rates are based on the Musicians’ Union recommendations for time and travel.

Other costs – music books typically £3 – £5 from Amazon.co.uk.

After an initial free trial lesson, the second lesson can be pay as you go. If you are happy to commit after this then payment for the present half term period should be made in advance.

Teaching in holiday periods is arranged at mutual convenience.

24 hours’ notice is required for a missed class or that lesson’s credit will be lost – this will be at my discretion in exceptional circumstances.   I will do my best but cannot guarantee to reschedule a missed class within the present half term period.

If any pupil has any symptoms of a cold – coughing, sneezing, nose-blowing or sore throat, then please rearrange the lesson.

I often teach during half term and school holiday periods at mutual convenience but not through Christmas or Easter.

I cannot accept cancellations at less than one half term’s notice under normal circumstances.

Pupils should be of 6 years and above though sometimes I will consider teaching children under 6 years depending on suitability.

If on the rare occasion I need to cancel a class, I will give as much notice as possible. I will give a full refund for that class if it cannot be rescheduled within the present half term period at mutual convenience.

Parents are welcome to observe lessons and I recommend parents to encourage their children to practise at home every day.
